Denise Perini has been promoted to Projects & Policy Manager at FreeHour Malta, she announced on social media this week.
Looking to her future in the role, she exclaimed: “I’m looking forward to the future of this company and genuinely believe that we can keep reaching new heights. To bigger projects, bigger goals, a bright culture and an even brighter future.”
Ms Perini joined FreeHour’s content department on a part-time basis in September 2020. She was then promoted to Senior Content Executive in August 2021.
This is a period that she describes as “an absolutely crazy journey,” and looking forward, she adds: “I’m excited to also continue growing within the company by shifting directly from the content tea and diving deep into the project management section of the company as FreeHour’s new Projects & Policy Manager.”
A major success story of Malta’s startup environment, FreeHour is a locally developed mobile app designed for university and college students to share their timetables with friends and coordinate availability.
Launched in 2017, the app has been an unmitigated success, with 25,000 users to date and new add-ons including student event calendars, graduate job notifications, and sponsored offers, to name a few.
Its Founder and CEO, Zach Ciappara, developed the app when he was only 18.
He commented on Ms Perini’s promotion, saying he was “thrilled to congratulate Denise Perini for her continuous progression at FreeHour Malta.”
He added: “It's an honour to hand over even more responsibility, taking care of various projects, policies, & our company culture.”
“To even bigger and better achievements in the future!”
