Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister, Carmelo Abela, recently met with the former head of newsroom at the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and former editor at Television Malta to thank him for his services.
On 18th July, Mr Bugeja’s retired from his post, which he occupied over the past seven years.
Mr Bugeja’s work with the PBS spans an impressive 44 years. Minister Abela spoke highly of the former head of PBS newsroom’s work, saying the overall quality continued to improve over the years.
Minister Abela said this is shown through the most recent figured released by the Broadcasting Authority, which showed Television Malta reach an audience of a record 200,000 spectators.
The Minister within OPM also remarked that he believes Mr Bugeja has more to offer the broadcasting sector within Malta, and emphasised his role in spreading awareness and educating others on the effective use of tools available to the public related to media platforms in the country.
