Former Kamra tal-Periti President Perit Simone Vella Lenicker has been elected Vice President for the Europe Region of the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA).
Her appointment was finalised during the governance sessions of the CAA’s 60th Anniversary General Assembly, held alongside the in:situ 2026 Conference at the Aotea Centre in Auckland, New Zealand.
In the role, Perit Vella Lenicker will represent the CAA’s European member organisations, which include Malta’s Kamra tal-Periti, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Cyprus Architects Association. All three organisations supported her nomination.
Perit Vella Lenicker currently serves as Chairperson of the Kamra tal-Periti’s Policy Committee on Property and is a Director at architecture and design firm AP Valletta. She has more than two decades of experience within Malta’s architecture and civil engineering sector and spent over 15 years as a member of the Council of the Kamra tal-Periti, including serving as its President between 2019 and 2021.
During her involvement with the Chamber, she represented the profession on several bodies, including the Building Regulation Board, the Planning Authority’s Users’ Committee and the Building Industry Consultative Committee.
Before becoming a Partner at AP, she served as the firm’s Design Director for Planning and Valuations. Perit Vella Lenicker holds a BE&A (Hons) degree from the University of Malta and is also a registered Energy Performance of Buildings Assessor.
The Commonwealth Association of Architects brings together 46 national architectural institutes from across Commonwealth countries, with its work focused on areas including professional standards, spatial policy, urban resilience and architectural education. The organisation also has historic links with Malta, having held its first fully fledged conference on the island in June 1965 following its establishment in London.
