Chateau Buskett has announced the passing of family matron, Dorothy Portelli.

Ms Portelli was a celebrated part of the Chateau Buskett family. The venue, ran by successive generations of her family, described her as the leader of the family, and said that she will be greatly missed.

Ms Portelli was the daughter of the company’s original founder, Reno, who built its predecessor, The Buskett Roadhouse on the site of an old hunting lodge from the times of the Grand Masters.

After Reno, Dorothy and her husband Jesmond took over the business, entertaining prominent guests from all over the world, helping to cultivate the venue into the much adored and loved one it is today.

Chateau Buskett will be closed for the coming week.
