Rachel Decelis has transitioned from her role as an employee to a consultant at KPMG Malta, marking a new phase in her professional career after more than four years with the firm.

“It's a big step. But that internal voice sometimes calls – and calls loudly,” she writes.

Ms Decelis first joined KPMG in 2022 as Senior Manager within the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) function. During her time at the firm, she played a central role in developing and expanding its ESG practice, working alongside multidisciplinary teams and contributing to projects both locally and internationally.

Her work at KPMG saw her engage with clients across multiple jurisdictions, including Malta, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Greece and Portugal. She was also involved in training initiatives and participated in conferences and industry events abroad, reflecting the growing importance of ESG considerations across sectors.

Prior to joining KPMG, Ms Decelis spent over eight years as a Senior Environmental Consultant at En-Sure Ltd, where she built experience in environmental and sustainability-related advisory. Alongside her industry roles, she has also contributed to academia, serving as a lecturer at MCAST and as a teaching associate at the University of Malta.
