The Office for Competition has officially approved the acquisition of Persona Limited by Chic Ltd, marking a significant development in Malta’s aesthetic and medical services sector.
The approval follows a notification of concentration received by the Office on 5th March 2025. After evaluating the proposed transaction, the Director General concluded that the acquisition does not raise serious doubts as to its lawfulness and has therefore declared it permissible under competition law.
Chic Ltd, headquartered in Luqa, operates a clinic offering a comprehensive suite of services including beauty treatments, med-aesthetic procedures, and general medical services. Persona Limited, based in Ta’ Xbiex, runs a specialised clinic focusing on med-aesthetic services and plastic surgery, encompassing both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.
Through this transaction, Chic Ltd will acquire all business assets of Persona Limited, effectively gaining sole control of its operations. The Office’s approval confirms that the concentration does not significantly impede effective competition in the local market.
The move is expected to strengthen Chic Ltd’s market position by expanding its service offering and reinforcing its presence within the med-aesthetic and plastic surgery segments.
