Nikolai Zammit has been appointed as Deputy Head of Administration and HR at the Permanent Representation to the European Union.
Over the years Mr Zammit has garnered vast experience from different roles.
Between 2015 and 2018, he had already worked at the Representation as Head of Administration and HR.
In the role he managed all routine procedures related to the Permanent Representation’s HR for both the locally engaged staff and Malta based officers.
He also handled and coordinated the locally engaged personnel and served as the contact point for the Belgian Authorities on all issues related to diplomatic representation and Malta’s diplomatic presence in Belgium, among other responsibilities.
In addition, throughout his career, he has held the role of Senior Executive in Quality Assurance at the Malta Tourism Authority, Business Support Manager at General Soft Drinks Co ltd and a part-time lecturer at Idea Academy.
In his most recent role, Mr Zammit worked for five years at Esplora Interactive Science Centre. His starting role was that of Head of Operations, and he was later promoted to Deputy Director of Operations and Sales and eventually to Director.
The Permanent Representation of Malta represents the islands in negotiations that take place in the Council of the European Union and in relations with other institutions. This includes the European Parliament and the European Commission.
