Patients, staff and visitors to Saint James Hospital Żejtun will now be welcomed by an “exquisitely beautiful” bronze statue of Our Lady, crafted by the internationally renowned Maltese sculptor Chris Ebejer over two years of dedicated work.

Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Saint James Hospital Group Director and CEO Jean Claude Muscat described the unveiling as “one of the most meaningful” in his 35-year journey with the group.

The statue stands on a solid marble pedestal, crafted from Egyptian marble by J&J Granite of Mġarr, Malta, while the intricate engraving was carried out by Abraham Bellia of Naxxar.

The entire project was expertly overseen by architect David Vassallo from Dingli.

Archbishop Charles Scicluna attended the ceremony and blessed the new statue.

“Saint James Hospital Żejtun has taken on a new dimension,” said Mr Muscat.
