One of Malta’s leading home improvement and DIY stores has taken a leap into the future with a brand new ecommerce offering that promises to replicate the formula that made the brand a trusted partner in countless projects.

PM Hobby’s recently launched online shop brings the beloved do-it-yourself enthusiast’s go-to store’s product lines into the comfort of customers’ homes, says Pace & Mercieca Marketing and Administration Manager Elaine Spiteri Mercieca - but it goes beyond that too.

“One key feature of our new website is the live chat function,” she explains, “where DIY enthusiasts and novices alike can get advice on their projects.

“It’s about going that extra mile to ensure our customers do not only see us as a place to get reliable brands, but also as a hub of information with an interest in seeing their projects successfully come to life.”

The live chat stays true to the company’s long history of personalised service and DIY expertise, allowing everyone the chance to get professional input from the people in the know.

PM Hobby DIY & Home Solutions is part of Pace & Mercieca Ltd, which has been operating in the timber industry since 1939.

Located just off the Mrieħel Bypass in Malta, the premises include a DIY & home improvements shop as well as a timber warehouse.

Over time, Ms Spiteri Mercieca recounts, PM Hobby has evolved to stock general home improvements, custom furniture, kitchens, flooring and loose furniture, along with paint and ironmongery products, to provide the customer a more complete offering.

“We therefore consider the launch of our online store as just the latest evolution in our long history.”

She describes the website as “a great tool to have whether one is planning a simple DIY project, looking to refurbish or finish their new home” which allows customers to discover the company’s product ranges online.

“Often, we dream about a new home project but are stopped in our tracks due to lack of information about available options. By logging onto our website, you can have all the information in hand to plan or to buy online instantly from the convenience of your home.”

Pace & Mercieca’s timber portfolio is also available online, so customers can explore what’s available – whatever the size, colour or look. Standard timber scantling, planks and sheets like melamine, plywood, postform, MDF can also be bought online.

“What’s more,” continues Ms Spiteri Mercieca, “online orders can be delivered to any location in Malta and Gozo, or, if preferred, we also offer the ‘click & collect’ pick up option.”

Even a modern website that brings the full product range and considerable know-how of the PM Hobby staff on constomers’ laptop or tablet screens cannot match the full range of services available at the store, however.

These include:
- Cutting & planing of timber and sheets to customers' specifications
- Advice on kitchen by the sales team and actual designing of kitchens
- Project installation
- Paint mixing for Dulux Paints
- Key cutting duplicates

“Whatever your needs, whether they can be met online or offline, whether it’s simply buying a can of paint, furnishing your home or designing your new kitchen, you know you will find a reliable partner in PM Hobby,” concludes Ms Spiteri Mercieca.

“We’re here for our customers every step of the way. Their projects become ours – because we’re enthusiasts too. That’s why we always say – ‘Let’s do it together!’”
