David Matrenza, who spent a few years in Munich running the emerging markets division of a giant IT company, has been appointed Chairman of Projects Malta and Projects Plus.
Marisa Marmarà, who served as government spokesperson and communications coordinator at the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects since 2017, was named Chief Executive Officer for Projects Malta.
James Camenzuli retains his post as Chief Executive Officer at Projects Plus.
Mr Matrenza held a number of senior management positions in Malta before moving to Munich. He has extensive international experience and has just returned to Malta after 20 years running sales operations in IT in several parts of the world.
Previously, Mr Matrenza was chairman and a founder of San Andrea School as well as chairman of the IT Section at the Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry.
Before serving as communications coordinator for the Transport Ministry, Ms Marmarà occupied senior management positions in the private sector.
An engineer by profession, Mr Camenzuli was chairman of the Malta Resources Authority. He has served as CEO of both Projects Malta and Projects Plus since 2017.
The appointments were made by the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects.
Projects Malta Ltd was set-up and is fully owned by the Government to coordinate and facilitate public private partnerships between ministries and the private sector. Its mission is “To develop and coordinate innovative and sustainable public-private initiatives that will foster improved efficiency and growth for the Maltese economy”.
