SG Solutions has announced that it has appointed Michael Balzan as Sales and Business Development Director.

Mr Balzan is a highly experienced business leader with over 35 years of experience in the information technology (IT) and telecommunications sectors both in Malta and overseas.

He joins SG Solutions from Oracle Corporation where he held the position of Malta Senior Country Manager for 15 years. Prior to joining Oracle, he formed part of the senior management team at GO Mobile and GO between 1999 and 2008. Between 2006 and 2008 he was Non-Executive Chairman of the Employment and Training Corporation (now Jobsplus).

Mr Balzan, who holds a Master’s degree in International Business Management from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, assumes the leadership of the enterprise solutions and software teams at SG Solutions. The combination of his extensive experience and market knowledge makes him the ideal addition to SG Solutions. Mr Balzan has also been appointed to the SG Solutions Board of Directors.

Away from work, he is very active in the voluntary sector and is currently the President of Rotary Club La Valette, a member of Rotary International, the world's oldest and largest service organisation.
