Matthew Mizzi announced through a social media post on Monday that he has been appointed General Counsel at fintech company Glow Financial Services.
“I am very excited about this new journey, and I am a big believer in the company and its potential,” Dr Mizzi said.
“I look forward to meeting all the team in the coming days and working on some very exciting projects currently underway,” he added.
Dr Mizzi joins after almost five years at UK-based law firm Simmons & Simmons, where he started as a Supervising Associate before being promoted to Managing Associate in the Company’s Structured Finance and Derivatives group in 2021.
He went on to thank his colleagues and friends at Simmons & Simmons, “in particular my colleagues in the asset-backed finance practice, for the mentoring, support, and above all, lasting friendship”.
His experience ranges from Legal Counsel at working capital and supply chain finance provider Greensill, to Associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP and also at Ganado Advocates, serving at the latter as an Advocate for three-and-a-half years.
Dr Mizzi is also an Executive Committee Member of the ADPD.
Founded in 2014, Glow Financial Services has activities in Europe, the United States and Asia, and it exclusively serves the handset finance space, providing “loans and leases through white label services leveraging exclusive partner contracts with clients in the Telecom, Mobile virtual network operator and retailer segments”.
