Mater Dei Hospital CEO Celia Falzon has praised the Toxicology Labs personnel for placing first in the LGC Standards Proficiency Testing Scheme case study report for results issued in June.

The LGC Standards is a division of LGC Group, the UK’s designated National Measurement Institute for chemical and bioanalytical measurements. It is a leading global manufacturer and service provider of quality assurance tools, supporting analytical needs in more than 240 countries worldwide.

The overall score for the testing scheme comprised analytical and clinical interpretative scores.

The chemical pathology consultant in charge of Toxicology labs is Dr Michelle Muscat and the Toxicology labs form part of the Pathology Department headed by Dr Christopher Barbara.
