On Monday, as most retailers were celebrating being able to reopen their doors after being closed as part of COVID health measures, Matalan was opening some for the first time, including its first standalone Home Store, and its first store in Gozo.

The three new locations, at the Main Street Shopping Complex in Paola, Daniels Mall in Hamrun and The Duke in Gozo, add extensively to the offering of the international brand, which in Malta is franchised by the Camilleri Group, along with Mothercare and M&Co, amongst others.

Celebrating the opening of the outlets on social media, Damian Hopkins, International Director at Matalan, congratulated “all involved” in their setup, including the Camilleri Group, saying he was “delighted” to see the company open three new locations on the islands.

Matalan, a leading British retail chain founded in 1985, has seen a dramatic expansion in Malta since it first came to the island in 2017, first opening two outlets, before quickly doubling down and opening another two barely a year later.
