Last June, Scope Solutions' leadership team, comprising Co-Founders Neville Micallef and Brian Ferris together with Barry Iacovou, Country Director of Scope Cyprus, travelled to Tarragona, Spain, for Zoho Inspire Europe, the cloud software company's flagship annual partner conference. Bringing together senior Zoho executives, product experts, and around 200 of the company's top regional partners, the event offered an inside look at the innovations shaping the future of business software, with artificial intelligence firmly at the centre of the conversation.

One of the conference's biggest moments came when Zoho presented a handful of partner awards recognising outstanding contributions across its European ecosystem. In a defining moment for the company, Scope was announced as one of the recipients, receiving the Finance Tech Enablers Award in recognition of its expertise in helping accountants and businesses maximise the value of Zoho's finance solutions through tailored cloud implementations, and specialist integrations.

“It was an incredibly proud moment for everyone at Scope,” says Neville Micallef, Co-Founder and Head of Tech at Scope Solutions. “Zoho is one of the world's leading cloud software companies, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, so to be recognised among Europe's top partners is a tremendous honour. It reflects years of investment in helping finance professionals and accounting firms embrace digital transformation, and really demonstrates that a company from a small island like Malta can create meaningful impact on the international stage.”

This milestone highlights Scope's growth from a Maltese startup into a leading cloud solutions specialist serving clients in Malta, Cyprus, Dubai, and other European markets. Central to its success is building partnerships with established and emerging software providers like Xero, Syft, and Zuper. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all software, Scope helps clients adopt technologies tailored to their specific workflows, ambitions, and budgets.

Among these relationships, Zoho holds a prominent place. For more than a decade, Scope has evolved alongside Zoho as it expanded from a CRM solution into an ecosystem of over 50 integrated business applications. This trajectory makes Scope the only official Zoho Partner in Malta, granting the team early access to emerging features.

That proximity to the cutting edge is complemented by Scope's own investments closer to home, including its sister company generate.TAX, which extends the capabilities of Zoho Books through local tax integrations, and collaborations with the Malta Institute of Accountants, ICPAC in Cyprus, and Accountancy Europe, which have established Scope as a thought-leader within this growing space.

Mr Ferris notes that Zoho’s choice to remain privately owned allows it to invest long-term rather than chase short-term gains- a forward-thinking mindset Scope shares.

But the partnership is far from one-sided.

“Working so closely with finance professionals gives us a genuine understanding of the challenges they face every day,” Ferris continues. “That real-world insight allows us to bridge the gap between global technology like Zoho and local business requirements. It's why our approach is increasingly trusted by all sorts of organisations, from SMEs and small accounting firms to major institutions, including a prominent Maltese bank and the Government of Malta. Whatever the size of the organisation, our role is to guide clients towards the right technology that can scale up as their business continues to evolve.”

Beyond the award, the conference offered an exclusive look at Zoho’s product roadmap, confirming that AI will be the dominant force shaping business software. For Scope, this reaffirmed its strategic focus on implementing practical AI solutions.

Mr Ferris recalled a resonating quote from Zoho’s leadership: “Sometimes in technology nothing happens for decades, and sometimes in a week, decades happen.”

He added that because AI accelerates innovation so rapidly, businesses need trusted partners to separate genuine opportunities from the hype.

Looking ahead, Mr Micallef expressed gratitude for Zoho's trust, noting that the recognition inspires Scope to continue strengthening its partnership, expanding into new markets, and helping more organizations embrace smarter, connected ways of working.
