Malta’s biggest celebration of innovation, entrepreneurship, and ambition is back. The Malta Startup Festival 2025, taking place on 23–24 October at the Montekristo Estate, will once again bring together global and local leaders shaping Malta’s fast-growing startup ecosystem.
Organised by Malta Enterprise, the Festival is a platform that aims to give visionaries, investors, and innovators a platform to exchange ideas, build connections, and explore new opportunities.
A festival built for founders
The Malta Startup Festival wants to put the focus on people, founders with bold ideas, teams turning ambition into action, and communities driving Malta’s transformation into an innovation hub. Over two days, attendees will experience keynotes, fireside chats, and interactive sessions covering everything from investment trends and data-driven decision-making to global expansion and sustainable scaling.
This year’s line-up includes Caspar Lee, who will discuss The Creator Economy and Startup Innovation, and Nicolas Hamilton, racing driver and motivational speaker, in Overcoming Adversity, Driven to Inspire. The dynamic Maltese brothers, Liam and Travis Gerada, recently featured in Forbes 30 Under 30, will share insights from their global venture, Krepling, in a fireside chat on teamwork, resilience, and scaling.
Exploring the future of startups
The Festival will feature panels including:
- Investors on the Move, exploring global investment trends and what founders need to attract funding.
- Scaling Without Limits, with experts from UNIDO, and Malta’s startup ecosystem, highlighting policy tools and partnerships for international growth.
- Decisions by the Numbers, where founders share insights on using data to drive smarter growth.
- People Power: Building Teams that Thrive, focusing on leadership, culture, and talent in fast-growing startups.
Every session is designed to be engaging, practical, and actionable, giving attendees insights they can apply immediately to their ventures.
Pitch Black and the Malta Startup Awards
No Startup Festival would be complete without the excitement of Pitch Black, the flagship pitching competition showcasing Malta’s emerging startups in Pre-Seed and Seed categories. The grand finale on 24 October will feature Caspar Lee as overall judge, offering feedback and guidance to Malta’s next generation of founders.
In parallel, the Malta Startup Awards 2025, held on 21 October, will celebrate outstanding startups making an impact locally and internationally. Tickets are now available: Startup Awards Tickets.
