Beautimport Ltd, local distributor of Davines, marked its 50th anniversary with an environmental action day at Qalet Marku as part of the global Davines Land Keeper campaign.

Together with volunteers and the Malta Ranger Unit, participants planted 60 native trees and shrubs – 50 donated by Beautimport and an additional 10 contributed by attendees – to help restore biodiversity in the peninsula.

The species included Tamarisk, Wolfsbane, Wall Rue, White Hedge Nettle and Olive-leaved Germander.

The saplings, sourced from local NGO ACT, were carefully selected to promote a healthy and resilient ecosystem. ACT cultivates its saplings from local seed stock, ensuring they are well adapted to Malta's dry Mediterranean climate.

Participants also took part in a litter clean-up, collecting 6 large bags of waste and removing bulky debris from the coastline.

The event brought together over 25 volunteers, ranging in age from two months to 75 years, united by a shared commitment to protecting Malta’s natural environment.

The Malta Ranger Unit will continue caring for the newly planted trees over the next two years to ensure they establish strong roots and thrive.

“Land Keeper is about giving back to the planet and the community that sustains us,” said a Beautimport spokesperson. “We’re proud to have joined forces with the Malta Ranger Unit and ACT to make a tangible contribution to the island’s biodiversity.”

This initiative forms part of Davines’ global sustainability movement, aligning with the brand’s certified B Corporation values that prioritise environmental and social responsibility.
