Work has finished on the livery of Malta Air’s first uniquely painted Boeing 737 Max.
Initially reported by Malta Aviation Outlook on Facebook, the unique livery adorning Malta Air’s new Boeing aircraft has finally been unveiled.
Decorated in a sharp red and white pattern, with the name of the airline across the fuselage and engine, and a Maltese cross on tail, the design is a proud testament to the nation it will serve.
The aircraft, one of two destined for Malta Air, was on Wednesday reported to have completed construction.
Malta Air is a subsidiary of Ryanair, formed in 2019 after an agreement between the Ministry for Tourism and the low-budget airline.
As part of the agreement, Ryanair said it would “increase its Malta-based aircraft to 10 within three years and create over 350 jobs”.
Additionally, at the time it said it would “brand its Malta-based fleet in Malta Air colours for summer 2020”.
The last year has been a turbulent one for Malta Air and Ryanair however.
After the COVID pandemic grounded the majority of international air travel, the airline announced a pay cut for employees which was disputed by the General Workers Union, eventually leading to 40 members of the airline’s cabin crew being made redundant.
