NOUV has announced the appointment of Jennifer Vella as its Director of Risk and Compliance, a move the firm says reflects its commitment to strengthening its internal audit, risk, and compliance offering.
Ms Vella brings experience across the financial services sector, having started her career at the Central Bank of Malta. There, she worked on legislation concerning payment systems and e-money institutions and represented Malta in regulatory discussions at the European Commission.
She later held roles working closely with portfolio managers on trading desks and was instrumental in launching internal audit and risk management functions at both start-up and group levels. Her broad background spans regulatory, operational, and strategic areas of financial services.
Commenting on her new role, Ms Vella stated: “This is a pivotal time for organisations that want to stay ahead of risk rather than just react to it. My focus is on expanding a unit that not only meets compliance obligations, but helps clients make smarter, safer decisions across the board. We’re reshaping how risk is approached.”
Mark-Anthony Aquilina, Founder and Senior Managing Partner at NOUV, welcomed the appointment, noting: “Bringing Jennifer on board is part of a deliberate move to elevate how we support our clients in an increasingly complex risk landscape. Her experience, especially in regulated sectors, brings both depth and perspective to this role."
