Albert Cilia is the Managing Director of Trident Trust Malta and serves as the European Regional Director for Funds. Trident Trust is a global organisation with over 40 years of experience in providing fiduciary, corporate, and fund administration services to international financial institutions, professional intermediaries, and private clients. In this leadership role, Mr Cilia oversees fund services operations across Europe, ensuring the delivery of tailored, high-quality solutions to clients.

Trident Trust’s global fund administration team supports more than 700 alternative asset funds worldwide – from multi-billion-dollar vehicles to next-generation managers – by combining specialist industry expertise and advanced technology with a commitment to personal service and long-term relationships.

“I bring more than 25 years of experience in financial services, with a strong focus on fund administration, corporate services, and regulatory compliance,” Mr Cilia says. “Since joining Trident Trust in 2016, I have focused on expanding Trident Trust’s local Maltese and wider European presence. In 2022, I was appointed European Regional Director for Funds, reflecting my strategic vision and operational leadership.”

Prior to joining Trident Trust, Mr Cilia held senior positions at Alter Domus Malta and Ganado Trustees & Fiduciaries Ltd, and served as Managing Director at Custom House Global Fund Services Ltd and Equity Trust Malta Ltd. Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade at PricewaterhouseCoopers Malta, auditing a broad range of financial services entities and completing international secondments in Luxembourg, Rome, London, New York, and Milan.

Mr Cilia is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) and is recognised for his expertise in hedge funds, portfolio management, and corporate governance. His international experience and deep industry knowledge contribute to Trident Trust’s strength in the European fund services sector.
