James Ryder, a comedian who brightened up life for many with his Tik Tok videos amidst the pandemic-induced lockdown last year, has been appointed artistic director at Eden Leisure.
Mr Ryder was previously administration manager at 4JM Solutions, a company offering engineering solutions, technical services, industrial automation and distribution of high tech equipment.
He is better known however for his comedic career, starting with the Wembley Store Boys, where he helped set up the first regular stand up comedy shows in Malta, building up a crowd from scratch.
That was followed with the Hard Rock Comedy Club and other endeavours that set him up for a move to Japan to work with the Tokyo Comedy Store, a comedy agency hosting events around the capital.
The thing that really got his name on people’s lips, however, was the emergence of Tik Tok and the regular comedic shorts he posted, cheering up a nation with little to celebrate as the COVID-19 pandemic ripped through the economy.
In fact he used the platform to announce his new role.
As the new artistic director of Eden Leisure Group, he will have the opportunity to bring his unique flavour to a wider audience.
