GROM, a renowned gelateria hailing from Turin, Italy, is set to land in Malta with its first location in Għadira Bay, Mellieħa.

The news was announced over the weekend through a series of posts shared on Instagram by GROM Gelato Malta, stating that it will be opening later this month.

GROM was first launched in Turin back in 2003 by Federico Grom and Guido Martinetti. The gelateria was so successful that it now has over 50 stores spread across Italy, and has also become a popular stop for Maltese tourists when visiting the likes of Turin, Rome, and Milan.

Over the years, it also expanded internationally with branches in a number of regions, including Paris (France), London (UK), Shanghai (China), and Prague (Czechia), among others.

The company advertises its products as containing “no emulsifiers, colours, or flavourings,” while also being fully gluten free.

In 2015, the popular ice-cream chain was acquired by UK-headquartered fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company Unilever plc.
