St Julian’s hotel InterContinental Malta on Wednesday celebrated 20 years since its launch.
The five-star hotel opened its doors to the public on 18th January 2003, and over the years has focused on its vision to become the Mediterranean’s “leading hotel of distinction”.
“20 years of excellence, 20 years of success, and 20 years of unforgettable travel memories,” it stated, before sharing that it is celebrating the “incredible milestone”.
Following this, a number of key past and present figures at InterContinental Malta showed their support to the hotel.
Simon De Cesare, CEO at Eden Leisure Group, which owns and operates the hotel, said that it has been a “great 20-year ride”, and that it is only “just getting started”.
InterContinental Malta Director of Luxury Sales Marika Caruana Smith shared that she is glad to have formed part of the team for the past four years, and is “looking forward to more years of success, progression, and innovation”.
Martin van Kan, who served as Area General Manager Central Europe and Southern Mediterranean at the hotel from 2014 up until 2019, commented that he feels “very proud to have been a part of the history of this fabulous hotel”. He also proceeded to congratulate its management for the “great milestone”.
Hosting 481 bedrooms, six restaurants, and six bars, InterContinental Malta forms part of InterContinental Hotels Group plc, a UK-based multinational hospitality company that operates more than 6,000 hotels under a number of brands in over 100 countries.
