Malta-based retailer and distributor Hudson continued to expand its international presence with the opening of its second Mango store in Morocco on Wednesday.

The 710-square-metre store was launched and is being managed by Hudson Holdings Ltd’s subsidiary Hudson Morocco. It is located on the first floor of the “outstanding” Marina Mall in Casablanca, which is positioned next to the Casablanca Marina.

The “captivating” store offers a variety of colours and styles for women, men, and children.

This new outlet "consolidates Mango’s presence in Africa" as it continues to invest in the continent, particularly in Morocco. Hudson Holdings has had operations in Africa for over two decades, and feels it is “the next big consumer market, offering high potential to investors, with abundant opportunities across its regions”. The group estimates that around 65 per cent of its turnover will come from the African market by 2025.

Primarily involved in sportswear and fashionwear sectors, Hudson Holdings was established in 2006, yet the group’s roots go as far back as 1987, when Hudson started selling NIKE in Malta. It represents a number of international brands locally, including NIKE, Intersport, Ted Baker, Converse, Crocs, Kiabi, and Mango, among others. Hudson also has a direct retail presence in other European countries and in Africa, particularly through its homegrown sneaker store Urban Jungle, which has 29 stores open to date.
