Mediterranean restaurant Giuseppi’s Bar and Bistro has bid “an untimely farewell” to its “colleague and friend” Ben Laferla, who tragically lost his life in a car accident that took place last Saturday.

The 21-year-old Naxxar resident was among four occupants who were hospitalised, but succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday. The crash has shocked the nation due to the involvement of an under aged driver and the use of a GoTo rental car.

In a heartfelt message posted to its followers, the Salini-based restaurant's management wrote:

“To his parents, friends and loved ones we offer our deepest and sincere condolences.

“It’s been an honour and pleasure working with you, your infectious smile will be missed and remembered.

“Michael, Chris & all here at Giuseppi’s and the Salini Resort”
