Today marks River Island’s final day of operations on the island, as it closes its doors at its last outlet, located at The Point, Sliema.

The brand advertised substantial sales following Christmas. Despite this, its social media platform made no mention of the closure.

WhosWho.mt reached out to RiverIsland MT through its Facebook page and was informed that today is its final trading day available.

The retail store's Facebook messenger page said: "Thank you for contacting River Island MT. Unfortunately, yes! Today is our final trading day available. Thanks"

The British-founded clothing brand is renowned for its women’s apparel, footwear, accessories, as well children’s and pet’s clothing and accessories. The brand was represented by Hudson group.

In addition to its store in The Point in Sliema, River Island opened an accessory store in Qormi in 2020, which was recently replaced by another brand represented by Hudson.

In 2022, Hudson took over an entire floor at the revamped Arkadia Commercial Centre in Gozo, which was also set to include River Island. At the moment there is no mention of River Island on the Arkadia website.
