A new decade has also coincided with a new Government Cabinet for Malta, after Robert Abela beat out rival Chris Fearne for the position of leader of the Labour Party and ultimately, Prime Minister.
After what appeared to be intense deliberations, Dr Abela took his decisions and had his Cabinet sworn in on 15thJanuary. He has already had to contend with one resignation, swiftly appointing a replacement.

Dr Abela’s Cabinet is made up of 17 Ministers and eight Parliamentary Secretaries.
