Emma Marie Sammut has joined GVZH Advocates as a Tax Associate, marking a return to Malta after a period working in Luxembourg on complex cross-border tax matters.
In a LinkedIn post announcing her move, Dr Sammut described the appointment as both a return to her roots and the start of a new professional chapter, expressing enthusiasm about contributing to a firm known for its strong reputation and forward-looking vision.
Dr Sammut graduated as a lawyer from the University of Malta in 2021. She later pursued further specialisation in taxation, obtaining a diploma from the Malta Institute of Taxation, before completing a second Master’s degree in International and European Tax Law at Maastricht University in 2024.
Her professional journey began at GTG Advocates, where she worked as a legal intern. She later joined WH Partners, first as a trainee lawyer and subsequently as a Junior Associate focusing on tax and private client work.
In 2024, she moved to PwC Luxembourg, where she worked as an Associate in International Corporate Tax, gaining exposure to cross-border tax structures and international advisory work.
Her move to GVZH Advocates now brings that international experience back to the local legal and tax advisory landscape.

When she’s not writing articles at work or poetry at home, you’ll find her taking long walks in the countryside, pumping iron at the gym, caring for her farm animals, or spending quality time with family and friends. In short, she’s always on the go, drawing inspiration from the little things around her, and constantly striving to make the ordinary extraordinary.
