Lucky Jack’s in Gozo has announced its permanent closure after operating for more than a decade.

In a brief statement shared on social media, the establishment wrote: “Regretfully Lucky Jack's is now permanently closed. We would like to thank our loyal customers, past and present staff, suppliers and other partners for their support since our opening in 2013.”

The venue had become a well-known social and recreational hub on the island, offering bowling lanes, arcade games, pool tables, food and drinks, as well as children’s and adult rides. It was also a regular spot for families, teenagers and groups of friends, and frequently screened live sports.

The news prompted an outpouring of reactions from patrons who shared personal memories tied to the venue. One commentator wrote, “we have lots of fond memories there including my sons first time bowling for his 3rd birthday.”

Others expressed disappointment at the loss of a space where young people in Gozo could meet and socialise. Some comments highlighted concerns that there are now even fewer entertainment options available for teenagers and families.

Responding to a question about whether a new Lucky Jack’s or a bowling facility could reopen in Gozo in the future, the establishment replied: “We are trying but its difficult to find a place that is large enough.”

The comment suggests that while there may be an intention to revive the concept, the main obstacle remains finding a suitable property capable of housing a venue of similar scale.
