Eden Leisure Group General Manager Kevin De Cesare Jr has presented €5,000 to 89.7 Bay as part of the radio station’s 30-Hour Marathon in Aid of Animal Welfare NGOs.

“We wanted to do our part and support the station’s efforts", Mr De Cesare said.

“Eden Leisure Group is always eager to push for causes like these and help however we can”, he added.

Last month’s marathon raised €10,517 to donate to local animal sanctuaries. The station’s presenters hosted the marathon with the support of Dr Lydia Abela.

It ran for 30 consecutive hours from 30th April to 1st May, and €15,000 worth of prizes were given away throughout the marathon to encourage people to donate to the cause.

A number of special guests were also brought on, including Kevin Paul, Gaia, The New Victorians, MICIMAGO and Ben Camille.

All funds collected were in aid of MSPCA, Noah’s Ark, and Island Sanctuary.

“Given the ongoing pandemic, Animal Welfare NGOs have been hit hard, with donations running low and demands for assistance on the rise”, Eden explained.

Bay 89.7 is owned and operated by Eden Leisure Group.
