KDM Investment, a private investment firm active in several sectors in Malta, is planning to acquire security services firm G4S Malta in its entirety.
KDM Investments already holds a 49.9 per cent stake in G4S Malta. It has now reached an agreement with the multinational G4S Group – the world’s largest security corporation – to acquire the remaining 50.1 per cent.
According to KDM's website, G4S Malta boasts a team of 1,900 security professionals and generates €24 million in annual turnover.
Revenues come from both the public (60 per cent) and private (40 per cent) sectors.
Should the deal receive approval from the Office for Competition within the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA), G4S Malta will become a wholly owned subsidiary of KDM Investment.
KDM Investments could not confirm whether the name of the security firm is likely to change once G4S Group divests of its Maltese operation.
In comments made to WhosWho.mt, KDM Investments confirmed that it has entered into a conditional agreement to acquire the remaining equity of G4S Security Services Ltd and G4S Security Services (Malta) Ltd from Allied Universal for an undisclosed price.
It said that the proposed acquisition is currently subject to a number of conditions and there is no certainty of completion until all conditions are satisfied.
KDM Group said it views the proposed acquisition as a strategic move to “further strengthen and enhance its business portfolio.”
It said: “The group recognises the significant potential in G4S Malta’s operations. This transaction aligns with KDM Group’s broader vision for growth within the security services sector by incrementing its current shareholding.”
G4S Malta forms part of a global integrated security business and is primary concerned with the provision of aviation security services and systems and the engagement and deployment of security personnel for the provision of security and related services.
