Startups involved in the Blue Economy are being invited to participate in Malta’s ClimAccelerate to “gain the tools, mentorship and funding” needed to scale.

The accelerator is open to startups engaged in areas like coastal tourism, blue biotechnology, marine living resources, port activities, marine renewable energy and maritime transport.

Participants gain access to equity investment up to €1.5 million, up to €1 million in Maltese and European funding, and up to another €500,000 through the Malta Venture Capital programme, matching private equity investment.

The accelerator is open to all Europeans, and involves three fully funded weeks in Malta, where participants can meet prospective partners in the private and public sectors, for joint R&D, MVP pilots and consortia development for EU funding purposes.

ClimAccelerator Malta also includes a pitching competition with a cash prize for the winner and tailored support to access up to €1 million in public funding.

The programme will help participants with both business development and the in measuring the impact their solution would have on the climate and the environment.
