DEA Aesthetics & Wellness founder Denise Marston is still riding high on the wave of considerable achievements she enjoyed last year. She swept up a total of five awards from six highly-prestigious nominations, including Best Beauty Products Creator at the Global Women Leadership Awards 2024 in Dubai, a star-studded event that attracts some of the biggest brands across the world. She’s also fresh from taking part in Stylefemina’s 2025 calendar, celebrating female leaders who inspire globally.
And 2025 looks set to be another year of breakthroughs both for DEA and Denise, even as she is already being sought-after to sit on the judging panels of some of these same awards, the sector eager for her to transmit her knowledge and experience to other emerging professionals.
But perhaps the greatest development is the opening of a new clinic in Naxxar Road, Birkirkara, offering a bigger and better space that’s purposely designed to offer an even wider range of aesthetic and wellness services.
“I intend to continue developing my own skin care brand of course, incorporating platelet-rich-therapy (PRP) and stem cells. To date it remains unique globally, and I’m exploring taking it to other markets, including the Middle East. But I also intend to focus on consolidating DEA’s move to this new space. It’s a very exciting time for me personally, as the new clinic will allow me to offer a 100 per cent holistic approach to med-aesthetics, incorporating wellness,” Denise tells me.
Denise in fact prides herself on a tailored and comprehensive approach, designing individual programmes to address every single aspect of a client’s concerns. She doesn’t believe in offering one-size-fits-all solutions - instead, she listens to the client on a human level in an effort to guide them towards a happier, healthier lifestyle.
“The clinic’s philosophy goes beyond traditional med-aesthetic services, incorporating a strong wellness component. This is especially important for women in the menopause stage of their lives, including peri and post. Many clients come in requesting a specific service, but then during an in-depth consultation it emerges that there are other issues. These could be self-esteem, addiction, poor nutrition for this specific time of life… women suffer from a lot of ailments, and we’ve always been taught not to care too much about ourselves. I help them adjust this way of thinking,” she says.
This involves not fobbing them off with an easy treatment. Instead she creates a tailored program that includes possible lifestyle changes.
“Of course, at DEA we offer machines that help with weight issues, but some women think that this is enough. It’s my responsibility to explain that machines don’t work miracles, that they need to support long-term well-being with an exercising programme, good food, and regular skincare. These machines work best when complemented by healthy lifestyles,” she explains.
For this purpose, Denise has brought in a fleet of specialised professionals who can each help clients target a specific aspect of their well-being.
“I am working with a range of professionals, including a homeopath, hypnotherapist, and naturopath, to provide guidance on nutrition, addiction, lifestyle adjustments, and hormonal balance. For women, especially those in perimenopause, and post-menopause stages, the focus is on restoring confidence and educating them on self-care.”
This approach is being followed for every aesthetic specialisation, with the new clinic boasting a considerable increase in medical professionals.
“The clinic now includes an additional floor with five new clinic rooms and a separate reception area on the ground floor to welcome clients. I’ve brought in genetic testing consultations with experts like Professor Godfrey Grech to pinpoint individual needs and tailor solutions. Dr Reuben Bartolo will be advising clients from the point of view of natural remedies such as homeopathy and hypnotherapy,” Denise reveals, adding that she is also working with even more professionals who are at the top of their field.
“Our team includes medical experts in botox, thread lifting, fat injections, semi-permanent make-up and others who are qualified in innovative technologies for skin tightening and anti-ageing,” she states, adding that cutting-edge med-aesthetic treatments like Profilo and fillers will continue to be a priority, each including full consultations for a customisable result.
And as an add-on, Denise will also be taking a strong educational approach by introducing a series of informational videos on social media platforms.
“The idea here is certainly not sales-driven. I want to offer my clients added value through these videos, helping them learn more about aesthetics and well-being,” she states.
Ultimately, Denise’s goal is to provide comprehensive programmes that genuinely support clients’ overall wellbeing and longevity.
“I achieve this by analysing exactly what my clients need and guiding them to the right professional and the exact treatment. Wellness and aesthetics go hand-in-hand; I’m not just providing a beauty service. I’m directly helping my clients’ well-being. At the end of the day, this is what drives me to continue improving my services,” she concludes.
