Corinthia Hotels Ltd has signed an agreement for the management of a world-class, luxury resort to be built in Lake Como, Italy. This was announced by International Hotel Investments plc today.
This will be the Corinthia brand's second property in Italy, following Corinthia Rome. Plans for the Lake Como property include a fully integrated resort, a world-class spa, wellness and dining experiences, and a lakefront club providing direct access to the water at the widest part of the lake.
The 58-key Corinthia Lake Como will be built adjacent to the grounds of Italy's second-oldest golf course in the alpine village of Menaggio, overlooking Lake Como, the company said.
The resort will feature three branded residences, while public spaces will be curated across three villas housing the lobby, lounge, and golf club, - each framed to face the mountains and lake beyond. Guest rooms and suites will be discreetly nestled in the foothills of the pre-Alps, settled into the natural contours of the land.
The agreement was signed with RoundShield, the European private credit and tactical opportunities platform of Harrison Street, a leading global investment manager, which recently announced its acquisition of this 40-hectare property.
“Corinthia Lake Como embodies the Group’s continued commitment to pursuing excellence in exceptional destinations that honour their surroundings while setting new standards in luxury hospitality," Simon Naudi, CEO of Corinthia Group (IHI), said.
"Our partnership with RoundShield and Kervis reinforces our long-term vision for thoughtful expansion in iconic locations, and we are proud to bring Corinthia’s legacy of craftsmanship, elegance and luxury to one of the world’s most celebrated landscapes.”
“Lake Como is one of the world’s most admired destinations, and this development represents a shared commitment to excellence and authenticity. Together, we will deliver a hotel that celebrates the region’s splendour and heritage while exemplifying Corinthia’s standards of timeless, thoughtful luxury.” Simon Casson, CEO of Corinthia Hotels, added.
The property is owned by the Putter Fund and is being developed by Kervis SGR S.p.A, an Italian real estate and special situations investment manager with over €1.5 billion in assets under management. Construction is expected to commence following receipt of final planning approvals, with operations targeted for late 2028.
Philipp Henle, Managing Director at RoundShield, echoed the sentiments of Mr Naudi and Mr Casson: “We are proud to bring this extraordinary site to life with Corinthia and Kervis, blending Lake Como’s heritage with an elevated luxury offering.”
