Malta has taken another step in its preparations to host the 2027 Commonwealth Youth Games, with Concept Stadium appointed to develop the event's official brand identity and launch campaign.
The Games, organised by Commonwealth Sport Malta, will take place in October 2027 and are expected to bring together young athletes from across the Commonwealth. Beyond the sporting competition, the event aims to promote youth participation, cultural exchange and Malta's heritage on an international stage.
Under its appointment, Concept Stadium will design the official logo, visual identity and branding system for the Games. The agency will also lead the development of the launch campaign, including a flagship promotional video intended to showcase the event's themes of youth, sport and Maltese culture.
According to Commonwealth Sport Malta, the branding will draw inspiration from Malta's cultural and historical identity while reflecting the energy of young athletes. The visual identity will be applied across digital platforms, media campaigns, merchandise, venue branding and other event materials.
Julian Pace Bonello, President of Commonwealth Sport Malta, said the Games present an opportunity for Malta to demonstrate its ability to host an international sporting event while showcasing the country's identity.
Concept Stadium Founder and CEO Jonathan Dalli said the project goes beyond creating a visual identity, describing it as an opportunity to develop a narrative representing Malta on the international stage. Brand Director Alessandro Caselli added that the agency is working closely with Commonwealth Sport's marketing team to ensure the branding aligns with the organisation's guidelines while reflecting Malta's culture and youth spirit.
The wider campaign will target schoolchildren, young athletes, educators, media and the general public through digital content, community initiatives and on-the-ground activations aimed at encouraging participation in sport.
