Project Technik began in August 2006 when Kurt Abela started operating as a sole trader under the trading name Project Technik, specialising in turnkey projects and plasterboard installations. Alongside this, a retail arm was launched in Cannon Road, Qormi, to cater for the growing demand for quality finishing products and solutions. In 2010, Project Technik Limited was officially formed, consolidating all operations under one umbrella.

Over the years, Project Technik has contributed to several landmark projects across the Maltese Islands, including the Gozo Innovation Hub, the new Saint James Hospital in Bulebel, SPAR Supermarket at Daniel’s Shopping Mall, and MCAST. More recently, the company was behind renovation projects at The Carlton Hotel and Villa Lauri, while also carrying out contracting works at Trident Park, Malta College of Sports, and The Hyatt Centric Hotel. Project Technik also collaborated on major international events, including works for Sigma 2024 and the Ministerial Council of the Organisation for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (OSCE) Conference held in Malta in December 2024.

Project Technik works closely with its sister company, KA Holdings Limited, managing finishing works for its developments, including Centris I and Centris II. It will also play a central role in KA Holdings’ upcoming flagship project – a 3-star hotel in St Julian’s. Most of the works, from construction to finishing and now including aluminium apertures – a new venture for the company – are handled by Project Technik’s skilled team.
