G3 Finance plc on Tuesday announced that Ann Abela has been appointed Financial Controller of G3 Group.

As a result, she replaces Matthew Fenech, who resigned from the position last June. Following his departure, G3 Group had temporarily shifted his responsibilities to the rest of the group’s finance team.

Prior to her latest role, Ms Abela was Finance Manager of the group, a position she had been entrusted with since 2019.

In her previous position, she worked hand in hand with Mr Fenech, and was responsible for the management of accounting records, evaluating and managing risks the group may face, compliance with regulations, analysing financial data, monitoring of expenditure and forecasting revenue, coordinating audit processes, financial statements preparation, and implementing G3 Group’s finance strategy, among other things.

Her experience also includes more than nine years at Deloitte Malta, during which time she served as Audit Manager.

Ms Abela holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Business Management from University of Malta.

G3 Group is a hospitality management company that runs Mellieħa’s Pergola Hotel & Spa and Solana Hotel & Spa, together with bars, restaurants and wellness centres in the northern part of Malta. Its hospitality arm, G3 Hospitality, has been in the industry since 1982, and is now comprised of a new generation of Directors at the helm.
