Angelo Chetcuti has officially concluded his eight-year tenure as General Secretary of the Malta Football Association (MFA).

In a reflective post shared on his LinkedIn profile, Dr Chetcuti described his experience as a "rollercoaster," filled with "so many experiences, lessons, and emotions," alongside moments of "frustrations and disappointments."

“Working in football, with all the passion it involves, is a privilege I never took lightly,” he wrote.

Dr Chetcuti extended his gratitude to his colleagues at the MFA, commending their dedication in what he described as an "often thankless environment."

He also expressed appreciation for the support he received from his family, the people who gave him the opportunity to serve, and those who supported him in his efforts to make a positive impact on Maltese football.

As he steps aside, Dr Chetcuti conveyed his best wishes to his successor, Maria Azzopardi, who will take on the role of General Secretary. “I wish all the very best to new GS Maria Azzopardi and to the entire team in their constant efforts to improve the game at all levels,” he remarked.

Looking to the future, Dr Chetcuti hinted at new opportunities on the horizon, concluding his post with, “looking forward to the next!”
