Andrea Saliba’s time at Hero Gaming has come to an end after more than four years at the iGaming firm, he announced on Monday.

He first joined the company in 2018 as Human Resources Business Partner, before he moved to other roles. Up until his announcement, he was working as Director of People and Culture at Hero Gaming, a position he had been entrusted with four months before.

It was revealed last month that as part of company reorganisation, over 60 employees are on their way out of Hero Gaming, either through redundancy or resignation.

“And that’s a wrap,” Mr Saliba said, before adding that he is “grateful to have formed part of this unique organisation and cherish this great experience filled with plenty of challenges, opportunities, and of course so many positive memories”.

“I have had the pleasure of working with so many talented colleagues – too many to mention one by one – to whom I am forever thankful,” he said.

Mr Saliba remarked that it has been “quite a challenging few weeks” for him on both a professional and personal level due to an “accumulation of multiple situations in a short period of time”. However, he explained that “every cloud has a silver lining, and this experience has taught me a lot, has offered me many new perspectives and enhanced my resilience”.

He shared that he is looking forward to the future with “a lot of optimism, gratitude, and fulfilment”. While he is keen to embark on his “next experience”, Mr Saliba will be taking a short break to recharge and enjoy the festive season with his family and friends.

Along with the post, he also shared an image of himself at his first Hero Gaming get together event in Sweden in 2018, where the company had kicked off its culture work that proved to be the “building blocks of some of the great things to follow”.

Aside from his time at Hero Gaming, Mr Saliba also worked as a Recruitment Specialist at recruitment agency Konnekt for over three years.

He holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and Training from University of Leicester, and a Bachelor of Arts in Tourism and Management Studies from University of Malta.

Hero Gaming was founded in 2013 by George Westin, with an initial focus on the Scandinavian market. In recent years, the casino company has grown to include the launch of a number of new brands to its portfolio, as it aims to continue expanding its services to a global level.
