Marsaskala’s Palm Valley Restaurant is set to close its doors permanently after 28 years of service, its management announced on Wednesday.
“We are grateful to our customers that over the years have chosen Palm Valley. We will miss you all, especially our regulars that by time became friends,” it said.
The management proceeded to thank every staff member that formed part of the team over the years.
“It has been an amazing journey. Thank you all,” it concluded.
The restaurant had been winding down its operations in recent months and spent the whole of December closed.
The news was met with a number of comments on social media from regular customers, with many labelling it one of their “favourites” to go to.
“Such a shame you’re closing. Palm Valley was my favourite family restaurant and I’ve gone there every Thursday for the last four years. Wonderful food, lovely staff,” one commentor said.
“Why did the year have to start off in such a devastating way. I will miss you all,” another wrote.
Located in Triq Tal-Gardiel, Palm Valley was a go-to family style restaurant and pizzeria for many, especially those in the southern part of Malta. Its closing follows that of Il-Fanal Restaurant, another well-known establishment that closed its doors for good last October.
