Tonna Stationery & Cards, an iconic Żurrieq landmark, is closing down its doors after 51 years in business.

Sisters Rita Tonna and Christina Bonello had run the shop for decades, along with their late brother Gianni, who passed away a few years ago.

Several Żurrieq residents and former customers recalled some of their memories of the shop and wished the sisters all the best for their retirement.

“We thank them for their work throughout all these years,” Żurrieq mayor Rita Grima said.

“I would also like to honour the memory of their brother Gianni, who was the driving force behind this shop.”
