Ann Fenech, President of the Comité Maritime International (CMI) has been invited as a guest lecturer at the prestigious World Maritime University (WMU) Summer Academy.
Dr Fenech will be delivering lectures at the Summer Academy on the enforcement of maritime claims and the new convention on the international effects of judicial sales of ships.
In 1992, Dr Fenech set up the Marine Litigation Department within Fenech and Fenech Advocates and she continues to lead the department to this day. She was appointed Managing Partner at Fenech and Fenech since June 2008, a position she served for 12 years. Today, she is a Partner at the firm. Dr Fenech has lectured on Maritime Law both locally and internationally and has been instrumental in drafting numerous laws in relation to the maritime industry.
WMU, located in Sweden, is a postgraduate maritime university founded in 1983 within the framework of the International Maritime Organisation and as a specialised agency of the United Nations (UN). It is committed to the implementation of the UNs Sustainable Development Goals, including education, gender equality, peace and justice, decent work and economic growth, energy efficiency, sustainable industrialisation and innovation, climate change, the oceans and partnerships.
