Stephen Balzan has lectured on topics related to both local and international tax on a number of occasions. He possesses extensive experience in advising clients on the set-up of cross-border structures through the use of Maltese companies.

“My main areas of interest,” he points out, “include capital gains, tax planning, treaty implementation and advice, company law, management and administration.”

Throughout his career, Mr Balzan, who qualified as an Accountant from the University of Malta in 1995 and obtained his warrant as Certified Public Accountant three years later, worked as a tax professional with two of the Big Six audit firms.

He set up ACT Malta, a corporate services provider and tax advisory firm, in 2014.
