A former pupil of De La Salle College, Norman Aquilina was appointed Group Chief Executive of Simonds Farsons Cisk Plc in July 2010.
“I am the first non-family member to head the management team of this public listed company,” he notes.
Mr Aquilina joined the Farsons Group as Managing Director of Quintano Foods, when the business was acquired by the Group in 2004. He was appointed Group Chief Commercial Officer in 2007.
A former Senior-Vice President of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise & Industry and a former President of the Malta Business Bureau, Mr Aquilina served as Director Economic/Commercial Affairs at the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry between 1996 and 1998.
He pursued his studies in international trade with the London Institute of Export and holds a diploma in business management from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He furthered his studies at various management schools abroad, notably Leuven, Bruges and Oxford, and is an alumni of the Salzburg Seminar. He is also one of the first award winners of the Strickland Foundation.
Established since 1928, the Farsons Group is engaged in the brewing, production and sale and distribution of branded beers and beverages, the importation, wholesale and retail of food and beverages, including wines and spirits, the operation of franchised food retailing establishments and property development.
