Geoffrey Fichte took up his position as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. on 1st May 2023. Prior to that, he served as President and CEO of HSBC Bank Uruguay for five years.

“I have over 20 years’ experience in financial services across retail, commercial and corporate banking,” he explains.

Originally from New York, he has previously held several senior international positions within the HSBC Group, including Head of Business Banking, HSBC Mexico; Senior Executive, Corporate Development & Global Strategy, HSBC Group, London and Senior Manager International (Asia), Hong Kong.

“My main priority,” Mr Fichte asserts, “is to continue improving our customer service through better digital channels for customers while maintaining the personalised service of our team. My aim is to build on the bank’s successes and execute the next phase of the bank´s growth strategy.”

He is confident HSBC Bank Malta plc shall continue to rise to the challenge and deliver for its shareholders, customers, employees and society at large as it leverages on its global strength being the leading international banking brand in Malta.
