Caroline Dorn's professional journey in accounting and finance began in 2002 with an internship at IBM in Germany during her MBA program. “By 2006,” Caroline shares, “I had joined one of Europe’s leading retailers, the Schwarz Group, which owns the Lidl and Kaufland supermarket chains. Over the years, I held various senior management positions, including directorship positions of the Financial Services Division in Malta (2008-2017).”

From 2017 to 2020, as a Director, she was instrumental in establishing the Schwarz Group's corporate entity in Ireland, focusing on financial services such as cash pools and placing investments for the group, as well as suppliers’ financing.

In 2021, she took on a new challenge by joining the supermarket chain Welbee’s. “In less than three years, Welbee’s has become one of Malta’s leading supermarket chains, thanks to an incredible and dedicated team that continually innovates to meet the challenges of modern retail business. Our mission is to become Malta’s top supermarket chain, recognised by our customers, employees and stakeholders,” Ms Dorn asserts.

Outside of her professional life, she is passionate about horse riding and has competed in equestrian shows across Germany and worked for international shows across Europe during her studies. Since she moved to Malta, she switched to sailing, enjoying it in the Mediterranean with her family.
