“I became Chief Operating Officer and Accountable Manager of Medavia Maintenance in February 2019, also serving as Head of Airworthiness since March 2016. Previously, I was Director of the Institute of Engineering and Transport at MCAST and, earlier, occupied the post of Maintenance Manager and then Chief Commercial Officer at Lufthansa Technik Malta,” Aurelio Micallef Grimaud says.

After graduating with honours in mechanical engineering from the University of Malta in 1986, he had joined Air Malta as an engineer, working both locally and abroad.

Mediterranean Aviation Co. Ltd has been a success story since 1978. It is highly experienced in the establishment and operation of line maintenance stations inclusive of the technical support in the field under normal and AOG (aircraft on ground) situations.

Through its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities, Medavia is able to offer heavy base maintenance, full refurbishments and modifications, painting jobs and other services at its state-of-the-art hangar facility geographically located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.

Operating its own fleet of aircraft, the company has made its name running charters to and from remote airfields of the oil and gas industry.
