Virtu Ferries Gozo has taken to social media to introduce its newest purchase, a vessel called the Gozo Express.
First announced last January, Virtu has now unveiled real-life images of the vessel, which carries 308 passengers and includes outside seating. Cruising speed is 33 knots while Virtu will use the vessel on the Malta-Gozo-Malta route (Virtu also operates a Malta-Sicily-Malta ferry service).
The company shared that the vessel is expected to arrive in Malta towards the end of March 2022, just in time for tourist numbers to steadily start picking up.
The HSC Gozo Express, will be registered under the Malta flag and was designed by the Australian high speed ferry designers Incat Crowther.
It will replace the SES “San Pawl” and will operate alongside the SES “San Frangisk”. Meanwhile, the SES “San Pawl” will be redeployed on the company’s Venice to Croatia route under the banner of Venezia Lines.
