Valletta boutique Hotel Domus Zamittello has announced the promotion of Moul Hajjar to General Manager, just one year after joining the team.

“Mr Hajjar established a reputation for excellence. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, and a transformative journey through some of the most renowned entities in the hospitality sector, he is a beacon of leadership and innovation,” the team at Domus Zamittello said in the announcement.

He is characterised by a passion for meeting people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Mr Hajjar led the team at Domus Zamittello to achieve “No.1 Hotel in Malta” on Trip Advisor, among other awards such as the most recent ‘2024 Travellers Choice Awards.’

Throughout his time in hospitality, he has focused on maintaining high standards, providing a personalised service, attention to detail, and employee satisfaction.

“These elements are the cornerstone of his management philosophy,” the team wrote.

In addition, his understanding and application of hospitality is inspired by this quote: “You never know what’s around the corner. You keep putting one foot in front of the other, and then one day you look aback and you’ve climbed a mountain.”

Domus Zamittello is a restored palazzo with a history that dates back to the 16th century. Formerly known as Casa Pensa, Domus Zamittello was built by a wealthy Italian family when Valletta was still being constructed.

Nine generations later a descendant of the family took over the abandoned palazzo, restored it and opened it to the public in February 2018.
