Valletta Cruise Port plc held a party for its stakeholders at Magazino Hall last week to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
During the event, guests were treated to a photography exhibition by Davide Degano, which showcased photos of the Valletta Cruise Project, in what was previously the engine room of Malta’s first power house, opened exclusively for that evening. The photos provided guests with a “taster of an upcoming publication” that will showcase Valletta Cruise Port’s milestones and achievements through photography and anecdotes.

Last year, Valletta Cruise Port CEO Stephen Xuereb said the months that the company was devoid of business due to the COVID-19 pandemic proved to be a time for it to invest in project to enhance the port's appearance. He had explained that a €49.9 million initiative spearheaded by Infrastructure Malta and Transport Malta with the support of Valletta Cruise Port, were in progress to develop shore-side electricity.
19 staff members who have provided 10, 15, and 20 years of service to the company were given a gift in appreciation of their loyalty and commitment during the celebratory event.
Attendees also received a numbered and individually signed print of a commissioned painting of the Valletta Waterfront by local artist Jacqueline Agius.
Valletta Cruise Port, a subsidiary of Global Ports Holding, was established in 2002 to operate the Valletta sea passenger terminals. Built around a natural deep-water harbour, the port offers a safe haven for ships, with a variety of support services that are available 24/7.
